Founder
Founded by Mr. R. S. Agarwal and Mr. R. S. Goenka, the Emami Group is built on shared values of innovation, integrity, and long-term vision. Their aligned leadership transformed Emami into a diversified business group with a strong presence across FMCG, healthcare, newsprint and board manufacturing, edible oil, bio-diesel, real estate, writing instruments, retail, and contemporary art, employing over 20,000 people.
Beyond business, the founders are deeply committed to promoting art and culture, leading to the establishment of Emami Art and the Kolkata Centre of Creativity. Mr. Agarwal, a poet, author, and art collector, has published Bhavdhara and co-authored Business the Emami Way, while Mr. Goenka actively contributes to philanthropy and education.
In recognition of their contributions to industry and society, both founders were awarded the Degree of D.Litt (Honoris Causa) by KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, in 2017.
