Seema Mishra, popularly known as the “Lata of Rajasthan” and honoured as the “Maru Kokila” (desert nightingale), is one of the most recognised voices in contemporary Rajasthani folk music. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in preserving and presenting the richness of Hindi and Rajasthani folk traditions through her distinctive vocal style.
Her rendition of the folk song “Ghoomar” brought her widespread recognition, establishing her as a prominent figure in the revival and popularisation of Rajasthan’s musical heritage.
